Dr. Richard McCutcheon is originally from the western New York city of Batavia where he graduated high school in 1978. He attended Hobart College in Geneva, N.Y., receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1982 and was co-captain of the cross-country team his senior year. In 1986 he received his DDS from University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. After graduation he served three years of active duty in the U.S. Navy as a dental officer at Camp Lejeune, N.C. and did a six month tour of the Mediterranean assigned to a Marine Corps unit aboard the USS Shreveport.
Dr. McCutcheon came to Ithaca in 1989 with his wife, Lisa SanFratello McCutcheon, to become an associate and later full partner with Dr. Richards and his brother Dr. James McCutcheon. Since his arrival he has been a member of the national, state and local dental societies and has been a committee member and active participant in the Head Start dental screening program in Ithaca.
Dr. McCutcheon enjoys participating in many of the social and sporting activities in the community. As father of three daughters he has coached or assisted many of the youth sports programs in the area. He has also participated in various adult leagues, road races, triathlons, and has organized the Over 30 Hockey Club for the last eight years.
